What is involved in the Assessment?
The Assessment takes on average 6 months. You will be required to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check to ensure that you are a safe person. There are various other statutory checks which have to be carried out. You will have to undergo a medical to check that there is nothing of significance to preclude you from looking after children. We will also take up personal and work references.
We will spend many hours with you and all members of your family discussing your own backgrounds and what you are bringing to fostering. We will discus the challenges and jubilations of fostering.
We will introduce you to some of our current foster carers; they will tell you just how rewarding the work can be, but also how challenging it can be as well.
