What exactly is Fostering?

Being a foster carer is essentially looking after a child in your home , and in partnership with ourselves , the Local Authority and the childs parents providing a caring nurturing and supportive environment for as long as the child needs it.This can last from a few days to a few years .
Fostering is much more than being a parent and requires skills above and beyond those that parenting requires. Foster Carers do not replace the child’s parents.Fostering is very different from adoption.
